Modified GHQ WZ-9B Helicopter
My first two GHQ F/A-18 E models
I decided to do something a little different from the usual grey pant scheme. One is an Aggressor scheme used in training exercises, the other is the digital camo scheme applied to the aircraft commemorating the 100th year or US Naval aviation. The digital camo scheme took several hours to do and I’ve only done the top side so far, the bottom should be done the same way … but honestly after doing the top I’m not sure I want to do it again.
GHQ F/A-18 E Super Hornet First Impressions
I just got my F-18s today and I’m putting together the first one right now.
This is a really nice model and I’m totally stoked to add it to my collection.

Like any model though, it’s not perfect. There is one issue that caught my attention right away and it’s the fitting of the right wing. There is an angled portion near the leading edge that makes contact with the fuselage a bit early, therefore not allowing the wing to properly be fitted without leaving a gap between the fuselage and the wing root. This is very easily fixed with a bit of sanding or filing on that angled area as shown below.

Modified M-ATV
I went a little crazy on an M-ATV (GHQ #N535). I started by putting a TOW launcher (from the M1134 Stryker AT GHQ #N503) on it. I know this probably has never been done in reality but I thought it was pretty cool anyway…. and heck, it’s my Army 🙂 Then I did all the antennas and then added some brass rear mud flaps.
My new gaming table
My new gaming table has room to store 18 game boards underneath and can accommodate 15 boards on top in a 3×5 arrangement (with the end boards hanging off the ends 2″ each) or a 3×4 arrangement with room on the table at each end for papers, rule books, dice, sodas, beer, pretzels, etc.
Now I’ve got to finish the rest of the “room”, it’s really going to be more of an enclosed patio but it will be very nice when it’s done. The roof is done and some of the wall panels have gone up.
P.S. If you are wondering, my gaming boards are 20″ x 20″.
Two reasons for this;
1) In my rules that is one square kM
2) You can actually get 8 boards out of a full sheet of MDF, you cannot do that when you try to make them 24″ x 24″
