New GHQ Minis On The Way

This week I ordered the following new GHQ minis:
W-101 T-72 TUSK
N-577 CV90105
N-578 Challenger 2 (TES)
N-579 M977 HEMMT Armoured

I got an email from Channing at GHQ today telling me that my order was being processed today … so I expect to see these new minis sometime late next week.  I’ll post photos of these the moment they arrive.  I’m real curious what the T-72 TUSK will look like, I’ve seen a few versions of the real thing on the Internet … so it’s still anyone’s guess what the GHQ model will look like.

GHQ has already posted one photo of the new Challenger 2.  It looks pretty cool.

A Bit of Work Ahead

Sometimes when I start painting up a bunch of miniatures I forget that getting the main color on is the easy part … the real work begins after that’s done.

This photo represents a lot of work yet to do.  Here’s what is left to be painted:  468 tires, 54 tracks, about 130 machine guns and cannons, 27 Sagger missiles, a bunch of helicopter windows and two aircraft canopies.

Getting a little behind in my painting

I’ve got a pretty nice size batch of micro armor that I need to get painted. This batch includes some new GHQ BTR-T (#W90), I’ll probably wait to paint them until I get some 30mm canons from GHQ to replace the MGs that they currently have. I’m trying to get some of the BTR-80/A turrets that have the 30mm autocanon on them to convert these BTR-Ts.

All of the Abrams on the right side of the photo are the TUSK version, the ones on the left are M1A2s that have been upgraded with the TUSK bits on the top of the turret but not the extra armor on the sides of the chassis.
